Frequently asked Questions

What kind of identification will I need to produce in order to rent a vehicle?

You will need to provide a bank statement or utility bill that is no more than three months old, along with a valid debit, credit, or Switch card in the name of the main hirer.

A £100 deposit will be required for Solo, Lazer, Cash Plus, or Visa Electron debit cards.

Additionally, you must present a full, valid driving licence, as must anyone else who intends to drive the vehicle.

Can you refuse to supply a vehicle?

We reserve the right to refuse to supply a vehicle to anyone who we believe, in our professional judgment, is unfit to drive. Drivers must be between the ages of 21 and 75 years and must have held a valid driving licence for at least two years.

For drivers aged between 21 and 25 years, there must be no endorsements on their licence, and an additional charge will apply for this age group.

What do you mean by a 'valid' driving licence?
We require a driving licence that has been held for no less than two years. All endorsements must be disclosed in advance, as certain endorsements may prevent us from accepting your booking.

If, due to an undisclosed endorsement, we are unable to proceed with your booking, we may not be able to refund any incurred costs.

If you hold a photo card driving licence, you must also present the paper counterpart.

Please note, we can only accept original documents—photocopies, faxed, or emailed copies will not be accepted.

Do you accept driving licences from other countries?
We accept international driving licences, provided you also present a passport at the time of booking. International licences must have been held for at least two years.

We also accept driving licences from other countries, as long as they are in English and accompanied by a passport. If your licence is not in English, you will need to obtain an international driving licence.

What is included in/excluded from your rates?

Our rates include all of the following:

  • VAT

Our rates do not include the following:

  • Fuel costs

  • Delivery and collection of your car (available at an additional charge)

  • Out of hours charges

  • Optional extras (for example, child safety seats)

  • Extra mileage charges

Do you require a deposit?

If the named driver is making the payment, they must use their own valid debit, Switch, or credit card when collecting the vehicle.

We do accept payment via a third party’s credit card, but in this case, a £200 deposit will be required on the card.

What are your insurance requirements?

All vehicles must be hired using your own insurance, as we are no longer able to provide insurance for you.

What if I have a breakdown or tyre problem while I am hiring your vehicle.

Please report any incidents to us within 24 hours—our phone line is available 24/7.

In the event of a mechanical breakdown, we operate a nationwide breakdown service, which we will arrange for you. Many of our vehicles are also covered by the manufacturer’s breakdown schemes.

For tyre damage, please report it to us immediately. As an account holder with both national and local repair companies, we will facilitate the repair on your behalf. Our policy is not to supply spare wheels, as we do not consider it safe for customers to change wheels at the roadside.

If tyre damage occurs while the vehicle is in your possession, the repair cost will be your responsibility, but we will manage the repair process for you.

What do I do in the event of an accident involving, one of your vehicles?

Please report any incidents to us within 24 hours. In the event of an accident, you must collect third-party details and obtain a signed police report. Additionally, keep hold of any documentation related to your vehicle rental, as these may be required by the insurance companies.

At the end of your rental period, it is essential to complete both an accident form and a checkout form.

Are there any additional charges if more than one driver is going to operate the vehicle?

An additional driver will incur a charge of £20 per week. For hires of less than a week, the fee is £5 per day per additional driver. However, if your hire extends beyond two weeks, no extra charge will apply for additional drivers.

Please note that all additional drivers must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in these FAQs and must be present at the time of hire.

Are your rental charges subject to change?

Like any market, the vehicle hire industry is subject to change, and we reserve the right to adjust our prices without prior notice. However, any bookings confirmed before a price change takes effect will be honoured at the rate agreed at the time of booking.

What if I am issued a NIP or PCN whilst hiring one of your vehicles?

If you receive a Notice of Intended Prosecution (NIP) or a Parking/Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) while hiring one of our vehicles, responsibility for the fine or charge will rest with you as the hirer.

We will either transfer liability to you, in which case the issuing authority will contact you directly, or we may pay the fine on your behalf and recharge you. The exact process will depend on the type of notice received.

We recommend addressing any fines promptly to avoid additional charges or penalties. If you have any questions, feel free to get in touch with our team.

Please note that we will issue a £25 + VAT administration fee for any NIP or PCN received.

Is there a cleaning fee?

If the vehicle is returned in an excessively dirty condition, a cleaning fee may be charged. Please ensure the vehicle is returned in a reasonably clean and tidy state.

Is there a mileage limit?

Our standard hire rates include a set number of miles. Excess mileage is charged at an additional rate. Please refer to the rental agreement for specific details.

Can I extend my rental period?

Yes, you can extend your rental period, but please contact us before the original return date to make arrangements. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability.

What happens if I return the vehicle late?

If the vehicle is returned late, an additional charge will apply based on the number of hours or days the vehicle is overdue.
